Last week's Ballard talk about Technology, Pornography, and God's Doctrine of Marriage

Click here to watch Elder M. Russell Ballard's Talk.

Elder Ballard's talk starts around the 12 minute mark.

I took several pages of notes. Excellent.

Some of my favorite points (paraphrased).

Handheld devices such as smart phones are a blessing, but they can also distract us from hearing the still, small voice. They need to be our servants, not our masters.

Honestly, how much time do you spend every day on your cell phone or tablet, not including school or church work? When phones interfere with relationships with friends, family or God, we need to make a change. Facebooking is replacing talking, praying, and thinking about things that are most important. People in the room get ignored because we're busy on our devices. Unplug your devices so you can connect to the Spirit.

We urge you to review and teach the doctrine in the Proclamation on the Family

We need you young single adults to be engaged in the work of salvation before, during, and after your missions.

Because of Jesus Christ, peace can replace guilt. Healthy relationships can be restored. Addictions can be overcome.
